Deciding on a post card

 i have to create a postcard for the short film as if im sending it to some competitions 

so far i have 2 frames i snapshotted in the video that i really liked 

and the edited version 

the second idea i had was to do like a type writer sccreen kind of thing or the same document that had the due wednesday on it for the post card 

the edited version 

obviously this is yet to be reviewed 

filming (day 1) behind the scenes

 the first day of filming we did all the shots with the computer and all the eyeline match shots 

getting the equipment & budgets

alot of equipment unfortunetly was unbale to run the software and the quality of the video with my camera was absolutely horrible 

so i turned to my good friend aayush for help

picking a location

since this video was meant to be done in the room we decided to use my room to film the beginning of the video and the other parts 

my friends house for the desk part (i dont have a desk that we could use to film) and for the concert part 

Casting

 i went through alot of actors. working with time and the fact that many of my friends were unavailable due to our exams i decided to use my sister 

main actor: Inaya Awan

back up actor: Idaya Awan 

final decision / script writing

 so the final decision is to do a short film about procrastination 

itll be a comedy and kind of up beat only about 3:50 minutes long but theres qiuite alot of work that needs to get done

 i looked at the international awards that exist for short films, there are many but i picked 2 to work with 

best soundtrack awards and also Canadian cinematography awards 

i also found some similar vides that i think would help with the shots and editing pace for the short film

New idea 🥳

 i decided to change to a short film because of time and because i feel like a short film would require less actors depending on what i do and i could do it on my own 

i have 2 ideas for this short film 

1) a short film about grief and dealing with it

2) a short film based on a true story about procrastination (because thats literally what im doing with this coursework) 

A change 🫣

 after some extensive research and working with my budget i decided to change what we were doing.

we also ran into alot of problems while trying to film, the shots werent working with the sound, the actors as well as me were on a strict schedule with classes and studying we didnt have enough time to film and edit. 

RESEARCH 🧐

I’ve been doing a lot of research based on the music video that I want to do

I know that I want it to have a clear storyline (a short film but with little dialogue and music over the whole thing 

This is the main inspiration because the dialogue is there and the song overlays the dialogue 

It’s a clear storyline has a build a climax and an ending 

This video has some clear shots that could be recreated to go with my music video, it’s the perfect video to use as the main inspiration
